Palazzetto Bru Zane is presenting an original monographic
exhibition dedicated to a Romantic composer whose name
is unknown to the majority today: Théodore Dubois.
Of eclectic inspiration, his extensive, diversified compositions
cover all musical genres, revealing an art that is of
the greatest fascination. Following in Dubois’ footsteps,
other contemporary composers were summoned such as
Gouvy, La Tombelle, Debussy, Paladilhe, Fauré, Duvernoy,
Franck and Pfeiffer.
“Perhaps I am wrong; but I am sure that once I am gone,
if my works are seen by musicians and critics who are not
prejudiced, there will be a change in my favour!”
(Théodore Dubois, Journal intime, 1822).
