Marking the 150th anniversary of Claude Debussy’s birth is a concert that covers French music during the Second Empire and the Third Republic, performed with original period instruments. Dubois’ Symphonie française is on the programme, the first modern-day performance of Wagnerian inspiration and, Claude Debussy’s La Fantaisie, the only composition for piano and orchestra, and the symphonic sketches of La Mer.
