Curated by Živa Kraus On the occasion of the 500th anniversary of the origin of the Ghetto of Venice, the Peggy Guggenheim Collection and Ikona Venezia – Scuola Internazionale della Fotografia will present, in the historic Ikona Gallery in the Campo del Ghetto Novo, an exhibition of photographs of Peggy Guggenheim, curated by Ziva Kraus, titled Peggy Guggenheim in Photographs. Some twenty carefully selected photographs, mostly from the archives of the Peggy Guggenheim Collection, will render homage to this great patroness, a key figure in 20th century western art. Among the celebrated photographers whose photographs will be in the exhibition are Berenice Abbott, Man Ray, Roloff Beny, Gianni Berengo Gardin, and Gisèle Freund.
