Fondazione di Venezia, on the occasion of the presentation of the book 'Art Enclosures / Confini d’Arte. Residenze per artisti internazionali a Venezia', published by Marsilio, offers a reflection on the theme of artist residencies in Venice. The event is scheduled for Friday, March 15, 2013, 9 am, at the headquarters of the Foundation.
The project 'Art Enclosures / Confini d’Arte. Residenze per artisti internazionali a Venezia' is a residency program for artists designed produced and organized by Fondazione di Venezia, created with the aim to promote and enhance the figure and work of young artists from Africa.
Fondazione di Venezi through this initiative aims to promote contact between different cultures, the exchange and the integration of socio-cultural and especially support talent by providing opportunities for visibility and space for artistic expression. During the period of residence is organized a program of activities that will promote awareness of our reality artistic and cultural interchange with young Italian and foreign artists, and enhance the figure artistic and professional guest artists through participation in meetings and exhibitions seminars with internationally renowned curators, public presentations at universities, art galleries and other institutions of the arts in the area. Art Enclosures offers selected artists the opportunity to realize also, during his stay in residence, one or more works that will be promoted through a final exhibition and a catalog at the end of the project.
