20 years after the Earth Summit, the International Conference on Sustainable Development (Rio +20) to be held in Rio de Janeiro in 2012 will be a crucial opportunity to renew international commitments on sustainable development, starting with action on climate change.
Marinella Davide (Researcher at ICCG) and Annalisa Savaresi (Faculty of Law, University of Copenhagen and visiting at the ICCG) provide an analysis of the state of the play at negotiations on climate change, reviewing progress made at recent negotiations, and hurdles to reach an international agreement on climate change. The seminar also include an overview of domestic climate policies undertaken by key countries.
