To commemorate the 200th anniversary of the birth of Fryderyk Chopin, Roberta
Reeder will present An Evening with Chopin: Letters, Diaries and Music. In this talk
our speaker will illustrate Chopin’s early years, his arrival in Paris, his relationship with
George Sand and the difficult period spent in England and Scotland.
Roberta Reeder is a cultural historian now living in Venice where she teaches at the
Conservatorio Benedetto Marcello. She is founder and musical director of
MusicaVenezia, an association dedicated to the promotion of the music of Italian, and in
particular, Venetian composers.
